My neff cooker does not get hot and there also appears to a covering of white powder in the oven compartment, do you stock any parts to fit neff ovens and is it likley to be the element, the model number i have is U1721W0GB/02
Reply
Yes we stock a large range of oven spares and elements, There is a good chance that the element has failed, the covering of white substance is from the inside the element metal covering which has insulation properties for the element coil inside this covering, Close inspection of the element should show damage to the external covering where the element has failed
Most neff oven fan elements can be changed from the front of the oven by removing the backplate inside the oven and the fixing screws holding the element which is fitted round the oven fan motor blade to rear box of the oven there will be leads attached to this element so be careful when removing so as to pull through these leads other wise it will mean removing the oven from the unit to be able to reconnect.

On inspection of the Neff oven U1461 i found the main oven door was not closing properly due to the Neff cooker door hinges wearing and twisted, I then tested the Neff oven fan motor & all the Neff cooker heating elements. I found that the main oven fan element 499003 had a resistance to earth fault, i replaced the element and then 267845 left hand door hinge & 481568 right hand door hinge. Fan Ovens - Built-In or Free Standing
The heating element which produces the heat to maintain a cooking temperature in an oven is installed in the rear of a oven box in a circular form around the oven fan blade which distributes the hot air round the oven to produce an even cooking temperature over the whole of the oven with cooking times being reduced in a fan oven
The oven fan motor should turn all the while the oven is turned on, failure of the oven fan to turn at full speed will result in poor cooking results and can cause the element to fail
Power to the oven elements is controlled either mechanically by turning a temperture dial or thermostat contol or electronically by a timer control panel. When an oven fails to come on you should always first check the auto clock to ensure this is set correctly, needs to be on a manual setting for the oven to come on
Oven fan elements have a fairly high rate of failure and will often cause the electrical supply to trip or to blow a fuse, failure is also sometimes accompanied by a covering of white powder substance over the oven caused by a split in the metal covering of the element
Most elements are fitted from inside the oven compartment and can reached by removing the covering plate from back of the compartment, however some elements are retained to the rear of the oven by threaded studs from the element bracket and retained by nuts which means the element is only removable by access to the rear of the oven box
Changing an element or fan motor should only be undertaken by a qualified
or competent person with the electric supply disconnected
